Finals

Only one more day of finals for me. I start training for my new possition at work tomorrow.

Brett finally got all his paperwork done for his bonus. Going on four months I do beleive. His family celebrated his birthday on saturday. He was hoping for an air compressor but instead he got an under water vidoe camera. Watch out fish, he can now see you! He also started building a workbench in the basement. It's a hobby I guess but I don't know what's going to happen when I decided to take over the basement, too.

Lexi opened her christmas present from the Maryland Linskey's. She loves her people! Loves them. Doesn't put them down. And I do believed she watched some Kipper this morning so I could sleep longer!

Christmas Letter

Today we wrote a Christmas letter and taking note from my sister Kelly here it is.

Happy Holidays to all! It’s our second Christmas in our home and a lot has happened in the past year. Also so did a lot of the same old’.

I am sill working at the gas station in town. I was just promoted to shift leader which is like an assistant manager but there are two others that are my seniors. I am still in school and not sure when I’ll graduate, but that is the plan still. I survived Brett being gone and got my AA. I’m still learning how to take care of our dogs, house and adorable toddler, but everything is working out. I did role my car quite badly on my way to school this fall, I do not recommend that but I did get a new car out of the deal. My family officially learned that I am a BAD baker also.

Brett left for basic training in March and came home in August having graduated AIT (advanced individual training) as top in his class. Once a month he drives to Decorah to mess around for two days. He enjoys it. His unit is moving to Iowa City soon, but if he stays with them he’ll get to go to Germany next summer. Evidently it’s somewhere he’s always wanted to do. He also got a motorcycle this fall and is in love!

Alexis, aka the prettiest girl in the house, is going to be 2 and obviously has learned a ton. Right now she’s trying sentences but doesn’t quite get it. She says, “Mommy, wubba wubba soap,” “I wubba wubba book,” or “I wubba Katie.” She changes the amount of “wubbas” to fit. I don’t exactly know what she’s telling me every time but I’m not sure if she cares if I do. She loves to color and likes make up, books, cars, puzzles and toy people. While I’m writing this she’s trying to sing the chicken dance song to me. “I don’t want a chicken; I don’t want a chicken, so wubba wubba butt.” She hates to wash her hair but loves soap and lotion, sometimes mixing up the two. Her favorite foods are cheese, oranges, noodles and pizza. On my break we are working on getting her potty trained.

Katie will be one on Christmas Eve. She has learned to pee outside, vigorously wag her tail and bark at other dogs. She is an excellent waking partner and is almost capable of walking by the mean neighbor dog with out being afraid. We recently got a new puppy, Chloe. Brett’s love of dogs and my not love of them has not quite balanced out and probably never will. Ask Aunt Elaine how well me and dogs mix. Anyways Chloe is a Chihuahua-poodle mix. She is very very small and looks like a guinea pig. For now she has done an excellent job potty training and Lexi thinks she is “so precious.” She likes to chew on feet however and since I hate dogs’ mouths near me she gets sent to her bed quite often.

All is well in this “Neis” home of ours. Have a Merry Merry Christmas and God bless.
Love and Hugs, Brett, Jen and Lexi. Katie and Chloe.
